Bob Brown is the Director of Community Ministry. The mission of Community Ministry is to lead our members to build relational bridges into the lives of people through ministry evangelism service projects over which we may intentionally demonstrate and share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Bob also works with the First Responder program to welcome people to our area.

A native of Selma, Bob graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Samford University in Birmingham, a Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky and a Doctor of Ministry from Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Licensed to the ministry in August 1956, Bob was ordained in November 1958. He has served as school teacher, Minister of Education and Music, and Pastor in Alabama, Kentucky, Indiana and Florida. He worked with the Florida Baptist Convention as a Church Planting Missionary across central Florida, then with the State Convention of Baptists in Indiana as the State Director of Missions.

Bob's wife, Bonnie, is a Registered Nurse. She is a graduate of The Birmingham Baptist School of Nursing and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Samford University in Birmingham. Bob and Bonnie retired as Career Missionaries with the North American Mission Board in July 2004. Bonnie now serves as secretary for Bob while he serves the Shelby Baptist Association as Church Planter Strategist.

Bob and Bonnie have two sons. Jon and his wife, Linda, and two daughters live in Pompano Beach, Florida, while Jeff and his wife, Beverly, live in Jacksonville, Florida with their son and daughter. Both families are involved with local Baptist churches.

Bob's hobbies are home renovation, auto repair and working in his workshop.
